Beginning Saturday, October 3rd, our hours will be Monday and Thursday from 1:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 1:00-5:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We will be still observing social distancing rules and COVID recommendations. The Dakota City Public Library provides a number of services to Dakota City and Dakota County Residents. Library cards are free to all residents of Dakota County. Library cards are $10 per card for non-Dakota County residents. Our library contains over 6,000 books, audio books, DVDs, and magazines. The library circulates more than 3,000 items per year. The library has free Wi-FI and a computer lab open to the public. As of September 2019, the Library now offers access to Nebraska OverDrive.
